‘Vanderpump Rules’ Alum James Kennedy Arrested for Domestic Violence and Kristen Doute Reacts!
Vanderpump Rules alum James Kennedy was arrested on December 10, 2024, on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence.
The Burbank Police Department responded to a call to Jacques’ Los Angeles residence around 11:30 p.m. regarding an argument between a man and a woman. A police spokesperson confirmed PEOPLE“The investigation determined that this was a domestic incident, which led to [James‘] Stop.” Jacques was subsequently incarcerated for misdemeanor domestic violence and was later released on bail. Formal charges are pending review by the Burbank City Attorney’s Office.
According to TMZ, which was the first to report the incident, a witness observed Jacques32 years old, having had physical contact with the unidentified woman. However, authorities found no visible injuries when they arrived. Jacques was released on $20,000 bail.
It remains unclear whether the woman involved was Jacques’ girlfriend, Ally Lewber. The couple had attended Kathy Hilton’s annual party earlier in the evening. A source informed PEOPLE that during the event, the two “spent much of the night apart and didn’t show much affection toward each other.” Another insider described Kennedy’s behavior at the party.
“James behaved very aggressively all night.” The source added: “He was acting very erratic, running back and forth towards the bar and checking on people along the way. He seemed drunk. He spent the evening mostly alone, but when he spoke to people he seemed irritated and rude.
Following the news of Jacques’ arrest, his ex-girlfriend and former Vanderpump Rules co-star, Kristen Doutereacted on Instagram by posting a screenshot of the TMZ article with the caption “Finally.”
Jacques And Ally 28, started their relationship in January 2022, shortly after Jacques ended his engagement to “Vanderpump Rules” cast member Rachel (formerly Raquel) Leviss. They met at a concert by Tom Sandoval’s band, The Most Extras. Ally later admitted to being a fan of the Bravo show, stating:
“I had seen ‘Vanderpump Rules.’ During COVID I went down the Bravo rabbit hole. She explained during the show’s season 10 reunion, “I gave him a chance to really show me who he is,” adding that “he’s adorable.”
Following the alleged incident, Ally attended a New Year’s Eve celebration event with Windsor at the Short Stories Hotel in Los Angeles on December 11. She appeared solo, smiling for the cameras and was photographed receiving a temporary tattoo by The Tattoo Shop at the event.
Jacques remained active on social media following the incident, promoting an upcoming DJ performance on Instagram. He posted: “Can’t wait to be back at my favorite place in DALLAS!!🔥🤠 @komododallas.” »
Jacques’ Alcohol problems have been a recurring theme on “Vanderpump Rules.” In 2021, he celebrated two years of sobriety, sharing on Instagram: “I’M 2 YEARS SOBER TODAY💜.” Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my journey so far. Here’s to many more years without alcohol #forlife (for all those who are struggling, believe me, the light at the end is brighter than anything I could have imagined. and if I can do it, you can Also).
That same year, Jacques described himself as “California sober,” indicating that he used certain substances such as marijuana in moderation but refrained from alcohol. This approach was criticized by his co-star at the time, Lala Kent, who is completely sober. Jacques defended his position, saying: “It helped me quit alcohol for good, you know what I mean? I will also quit weed when the time comes. …I don’t feel like I should stop now, you know? It’s no use.
For now, neither Jacques neither Ally publicly commented on this arrest. The Burbank City Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case to determine if formal charges will be filed.
