The prince, who published the book in January 2023, reportedly told a guest at an event later that year that none of his royal relatives had contacted him since its release.
The source expressed sympathy for Harry, noting that his hope for reconciliation seemed “genuine.”
“That’s kind of what made me so sad. His hope seemed very sincere,” the source explained. “And I was just like, ‘Oh, no.'”
According to the report, Harry may not have fully “absorbed the gravity” of the revelations in his memoir, particularly the damaging accusations made against his family.

Among those claims was an account of Prince William calling Meghan Markle “difficult,” “rude” and “abrasive,” as well as a physical altercation in which William allegedly pushed Harry into a dog bowl.
Reflecting on the situation, the source added, “The power of the written word and the power of the story. I don’t know if that’s something he understood while doing it.”

The Duke and his father have yet to connect since his trip to the UK following the king’s cancer diagnosis

Just over a year after the release of “Spare,” Harry briefly met King Charles in February 2024 after the monarch’s cancer diagnosis was announced.
The conversation between father and son lasted approximately 45 minutes, marking their first meaningful interaction in 15 months. Their last in-person meeting took place during the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.
In May 2024, Harry returned to the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games but did not meet King Charles. Although Harry had hoped to reconnect, the meeting apparently could not have happened due to the king’s busy schedule.
