Inside TikTok’s Bittersweet Final Hour Of Scrolling On Saturday


When the news spread TikTok Night fell at 5:30 p.m. (Pacific Time) and the marathon parade began.

Even though it was soaking it all in, seeing how others felt, and making sure we were there until the end, it was bittersweet and a little stressful. We wanted to share the vibe in this last hour before TikTok goes dark on Saturday night.

Since we didn’t know TikTok would be coming back to us on Sunday morning, my editor, Heather Edwards, and I took advantage of this last hour on TikTok to collect some interesting videos to share with our readers today. And even if the application is operational again, we thought we would share with you the last hour of TikTok as we experienced it.

Truths, facts and memories filled TikTok’s FYP Saturday night

The latest doom-filled long scroll on TikTok on Saturday night contained videos that summarized the creator’s time spent on the app, sharing fond memories and saying goodbye. Some videos shared information about what was happening from different angles, like a video from content creator, @Jaxwrites songs.

His video was captioned: “Thank you guys for completely changing my life and giving me a chance to pursue my dreams. I will be forever grateful to the friends I’ve made on this app. I pray that my daughter can experience a platform like this one day I’m so angry, I’ll never forget this chapter. In the video, Jax shares some news on the TikTok ban, as well as his thoughts behind it all.

“I’m sorry sir, I thought ‘national security threat’ was about data collection,” she said in response to a report calling TikTok a “potentially more powerful propaganda tool.”

“Here are some fun facts. Instagram, Facebook, Google, DoorDash and Airbnb all collect more data than TikTok,” she continued. “TikTok has contributed more than $24 billion to the U.S. gross domestic product and created more than 224,000 jobs in the U.S. economy.”

She continued to share facts about TikTok and all the good it does, as well as comparing TikTok to Meta.

His video quickly went viral with over 17 million views in one day. Many took to the comments to share their thoughts.

“And the fact that you gave us all this information easily without searching for it is why they hate this app,” one person wrote. Another said: “We are free to have opinions, but they don’t want us to have a choice. »

TikTok doesn’t just appeal to the younger generation. People of all generations have found TikTok a safe place to share their lives, and Grandma Droniak is proof of this. She shares her wisdom, dating advice, and life on the app. She shared a sad video to say goodbye to all her loyal followers.

“This app gave me purpose late in life. I always wanted to be famous and it made my dream come true at 90 years old. I can expire happily now. I don’t want to lose you all,” is written on the video of her expressing her sadness.

The video quickly went viral with over 3 million views and tons of comments of support and love.

“Oh this one hurts,” one viewer wrote in the comments. “Keep killing grandma every day. Legends never expire.”

Comparison from 2020 to 2025

Brian Mollerknown for his videos that are both fun and informative, shared a video on Saturday about all the social media apps millennials have been using. As I scrolled, I fully expected to see his take on the gloom and doom of TikTok getting darker and I wasn’t disappointed when his video popped up in my FYP.

As with all of his videos, viewers were able to relate to his point of view and share their thoughts in the comments section.

“It’s no joke that Millennials have already scrolled through all of social media,” one person wrote. Another added: “I was really waiting for one of your videos. I’m so glad I at least got to see it before it got dark. Thanks for the laughs.”

A few days earlier, he had shared a video on the possibility that the ban will discourage TikTok users.

Captioned “The TikTok moment of our lives”, it plays the role of every popular social media app and what they would be thinking about at the moment. His sketches not only entertain but also inform viewers and he has gathered many fans over the years with his relatable perspectives.

“Thanks for following me throughout Vegas.”

Being a Vegas resident, I knew @VegasStarfish would appear in my FYP. Seeing his goodbye video made him feel like home and brought instant sadness over the app’s disappearance.

“Well, that’s it, my friends. It’s the TikTok Swan song, and unless something big happens in the new days, this might be my last post on the app,” a she began her farewell video. “Thank you for letting me share Las Vegas with you and thank you for being a part of the adventure. You have absolutely changed my life.”

She shared more of her experience on TikTok and her gratitude for the app and everyone involved in it.

“When my mom first moved to Vegas I was very anxious but then you were on my FYP. YOU helped me by comforting me with your presence so thank you,” one person wrote in the posts. comments. Another person shared: “Thank you for all the great suggestions for a Las Vegas vacation. You were extremely helpful.”

After TikTok returned on Sunday morning, she shared another video about being back.

Keith Lee released one last video with big news

Very popular food review on TikTok Keith Leewho has found great success on the application, shared a final video on Saturday which had big news at the end. He made sure to leave TikTok with an entertaining video that kept fans intrigued until the end.

“If this is my last time here, I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate you all and goodbye,” he said at the start of his video while in his car. After getting out of his car with boxes of food for his family, the story begins.

Lee receives several phone calls and although we can hear what the person on the other end of the line is saying, viewers can only hear Lee say “wall wall wall” to add to the mystery of the big news shared at the end.

The video continues with Lee walking around his house and receiving phone call after phone call. At the end of the video, he reveals his news of a new food tour and the platforms on which he will share his new videos.
