Sabrina Carpenter Back to a group of record producers who criticized her sexy image as “offensive” and called her lyrics “lazy.”

The singer pointed out that comments from English songwriting and record production Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman were “totally regressive”.

The trio of producers recently made harsh remarks about Sabrina Carpenter, saying the singer’s actions were a setback for women’s rights.

During a conversation with The sunCarpenter has addressed scathing comments about his image and music made by top English record producers.

The singer, clearly unhappy with Stock, Aitken, and Waterman’s comments about her sultry image and sultry lyrics, claimed they were “regressive” and intended “shame” while ignoring the fact that she had spoken of “self-care” and “body positivity.”

Carpenter said: “My message has always been clear: If you can’t handle a girl who is confident in her own sexuality, then don’t come to my shows.”

“Female artists have been shamed forever. In the ’90s it was Rihanna, in the ’90s it was Britney Spears, in the ’80s it was Madonna – and now it’s me,” continued Carpenter. “It’s totally regressive. It’s like those who wanted to shame into not commenting when I talk about self-care or body positivity or grief, which are all normal things a 25 year old goes through .”

The singer added: “They just want to talk about the sexual side of my performances.”

In an interview with The News Out, Stock, Aiken and Waterman had a lot to say about Carpenter and modern singers.

Waterman blasted the singer’s wardrobe, questioning why it sexualizes his image despite possessing the raw talent needed to stand out.

He also claimed that female singers dressing “as minimally as possible” was not the norm 30 years ago, noting that artists of his era would have been “killed” for doing “half of what is done now.”

Upon coming out, Aitken said seeing Carpenter and other women adopting this style to promote their music is a setback for women’s rights.

He said: “They have [women] women have won all their freedoms and rights. They fought for everything they have and now they’re throwing it away, that’s the way I look at it. “

Still in their conversation with The sunWaterman said Carpenter’s decision to dress sexually could make it difficult for her to gain respect.

“It’s just crazy. If you’re asking to be respected, don’t come in a G string,” he said.

As for Stock, he took aim at Carpenter’s lyrics, saying how she talked about sex in some of her songs was “lazy.”

“I would never try to write a lyric that said anything sexually specific,” Stock said.

He added: “You would always be allegorical or glaring at it in some way. So I don’t like that. I think it’s a bad show and it’s lazy. You’re going to attract some form of be careful when doing this.”

According to the Daily MailIndustry sources shared that Carpenter’s image played a significant role in his meteoric rise over the past year, especially after he struggled to make an impact in the music scene.

“She didn’t connect with a mass audience, and drastic changes needed to be made,” an insider explained.

According to the source, the singer joining Island Records in 2021 has led to the massive transformation of her image.

They claimed her new management had pushed her to move away from her “everyday image” and reorganize into a “sexpot”.

Carpenter reportedly found it difficult to transition from her previous style to her raunchy new look. She had become accustomed to the “wholesome image” she cultivated at Disney.
