The series offers many heartbreaking moments, but for many fans, there is nothing sadder than when Seth Green leaves Buffy The Vampire Slayer. His character Oz was a vital part of the charismatic entourage of the show, and in addition to that, his relationship with Willow could well be the cutest thing ever put on the screen. This relationship was brutally disintegrated in the episode “Wild at Heart”, and the showrunner Joss Whedon later confirmed that he made this episode incredibly depressing so that fans can actually feel the sorrow of Willow.

Seth Green

Once you’ve watched the scene where Seth Green leaves BuffyIt is impossible not to notice how sudden his departure from the series was. Green, who wanted to become more a movie star at the time, left the series to go film Knockaround guysA black comedy With Dennis Hopper and John Malkovich. Whedon described the loss of green as a “sorrow” which led the heart of Willow to break next to the public. “I took what we feel and I put it on the screen,” he said, “so everyone would be on the same wavelength.”

If you don’t remember how bad the sorrow of Willow, then you might need a refreshment on the episode in which Seth Green leaves Buffy As a member of the regular distribution (he returned later for two appearances by CamĂ©e). In “Wild at Heart”, Oz becomes in love with Veruca, a pretty young woman who is also both a musician and a werewolf.

The two end up sleeping together, condemning Oz’s relationship with Willow (poor witch discovers her boyfriend’s infidelity while bringing her breakfast). Later, Veruca tries to kill Willow, but she is stopped and killed by Oz in her wolf form. The episode ends unfortunately, however: Oz’s relationship with Willow is dead, and he leaves Sunnydale completely to try to find out more about what separates him from the wolf inside.

The moment when Seth Green leaves Buffy Remain viscerally shocking for the public, and it was just as shocking for Joss Whedon. He did not know that the actor should leave to cover a film, which has actually destroyed certain major plans for the character of Oz. The Triangle Love Oz / Willow / Veruca was originally supposed to be an arc throughout the season, but everything was condensed in a loose trilogy of episodes culminating in “Wild at Heart”, the big departure of Oz from Sunnydale.

Whenever we re-regard “Wild at Heart”, the moment that leaves Seth Green Buffy We hit us stronger than ever. However, there are silver liners on this departure, because it cleaned the game of the subsequent relationship of Willow with Tara to flourish. And it was rewarding to discover later how Oz had grown as a character since we left Sunnydale, proving once and for all Angeles).

By the way, if you want to see more Oz character from Seth Green, you can always consult the canonical Buffy The Vampire Slayer Joss Whedon comics launched in 2007. These comics detail how Oz finally married a woman by the name of Bayarmaa and even generated a son. And we can only cross our fingers that the character makes an appearance in recently announced Buffy restart. This is the kind of request that we could normally take with higher power, but we will be content to direct our requests to Oz himself. After all, who better to answer this question than someone with a name label that reads “God?”
