Spoilers For “Cobra Kai” season 6 part 3 to follow.
Before “Cobra Kai” typed with its last season, one of the creators of the show, Hayden Schlossberg, admitted to The Hollywood Reporter That he and his creative colleagues explored the idea of a series of spin-off which reveals the unprecedented history of the legendary “Karate Kid” Sensei M. Miyagi (Pat Morita). Although nothing is yet in stone, it certainly seems that the gears are running to make sure that the world of “Cobra Kai” strikes in the future with one or two stories. The most important question to consider, however, is exactly which characters “Cobra Kai” deserve to be revisited all over the line.
Notice, each new risky company is not only accompanied by moving the tone, but also to move the greater franchise in a different direction. Just see how “The Karate Kid” changed course with “Cobra Kai”, a show that has played more from the life of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). Battle tactics could change again if and when we get a “Cobra Kai” spin-off on the line (something that Netflix would undoubtedly be interested). A show on the first years of Mr. Miyagi, for example, could strike a little stronger, given the secrets that have been revealed about it in the last season of “Cobra Kai”. Likewise, Johnny’s state of mind has radically changed now that he is a father and no longer actively comparing his life to “Top Gun” or “Rocky”. So, keeping this in mind, here is our list of the spin-off “Cobra Kai” shows the most (and the characters who would be perfect for directing them).
Cobra Kai: The new class
Fans could feel deceived at the start if it happened, given the message that was hammered at home concerning the purpose of “Cobra Kai”. Nevertheless, there are all the reasons why a new class attracts attention after the reopening of the titular school in the final of the series. Admittedly, some series in the past have tried to restart with a whole new cast and died of a rapid death (we look at you, “scrubs: trainees”). But this franchise sled has been fired by outsiders since its creation, and if there is someone who can make it move, it is the character who rekindled him first: Johnny Lawrence.
After learning personal lessons just in time to start a new life as the father of a newly formed family, Johnny has more responsibility than ever and welcomed him like the hero he is. In this spirit, it would be great to see the now balanced Sensei of Cobra Kai struggling with not only the application of a more recent and more positive mentality in the name of his dojo, but also potentially doing it alone without Daniel Laruso (Ralph Macchio) by its side.
A new year in Cobra Kai could also allow students who had a bad hand during the program’s final to get a second blow. With characters like Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Samantha (Mary Mouser), Robbie (Tanner Buchanan) and Tory (Peyton List), like Kenny (Dallas Dupree Young) and Devon (Oona O’Brien) could become Johnny’s. The new model students who take the torch and transmit it to other loans to learn the way of the cobra and the meaning of “quiet!”
Young miyagi
While the heart of the show was in the right place by visiting the heritage of Mr. Miyagi in his last season, the use of an iteration of AA with the dead eyes of the late Pat Morita in “Cobra Kai” n ‘was not the way to follow. Man and his dark secret Deserved better than that, and a spin-off has focused on previous and unexplored years in his life could exactly what the doctor ordered. Fortunately, Season 6 of “Cobra Kai” has already prepared the field for this.
As the co-creator of “Cobra Kai” said Screen diatriber (Concerning the legend of the fly), “he was in [WWII]It is someone who had a lot of experience in life beyond karate tournaments among adolescents in the valley, and his life was complicated. Everything that has happened at Sekai Taikai in the past is something that, at present, we only know a little. Maybe we will learn more over time. “”
The best way to find out more is to have a new daring talent on the Miyagi coat and tell the story before and after its fateful turn during the Seikai Taikai. Such a tragedy could also pave the way for a harder, harder and potentially more nervous tale revealing how Miyagi became the peaceful but powerful teacher seen in “The Karate Kid”. We have looked at the other wax for decades for decades, so it just seems that Miyagi himself has a tour.
Elected and Kim Da-Yard
There was a handful of “Cobra Kai” characters who may not have had as much time in the spotlight as the fans could have wished, and the chief among them was another of the ancient enemies of Daniel Larusso who became the Best friends, Chozen Toguchi. Yuji Okumoto warmed the hearts of viewers like the fish out of the water, which prospered the muscle of the Cobra Kai team essentially. Consequently, seeing him find peace and love in the shortest moments at the end of the show was expected and pleasant but much less than he deserved it.
So, what better way to correct that with a spin-off showing Chozen starting a new chapter of his life, either by visiting or teaching alongside her new love, Kim da-Eun (Alicia Hannah-Kim), then What does her new dojo mentor? With Chozen and Kim having already displayed a ridiculous quantity of romantic chemistry In the last season of “Cobra Kai”, a series of spin-off could give more time to this couple to be together, potentially fighting enemies who were former students of the now abandoned methods of Kim and are rabid by the new Direction that their old school is going to be a section for a story? Potentially. But Okumoto has already transformed Chozen from the villain to a note in which he was in “The Karate Kid Part II” into a charismatic and undeniably hilarious hero seen in “Cobra Kai”, so it is high time that he dug a corner of this Franchise for itself for itself (and poured essence on a whole new fire while it is).
Message
The candidate for Oscars Paul Walter Hauser is absolutely the underestimated MVP of “Cobra Kai” thanks to his turn as “Stringray”, the Manchild who loves karate with atrocious facial hair. The character would reflect frequently to lighten the atmosphere each time treating. A fallout centered on Stingray, however, could let the laughs steal absolutely.
Simply imagine the universe “Cobra Kai” obtaining a false style show on the character of Hauser, with talking heads of Stingray being left to himself (with his students and even their parents, who could put from time to time on the questionable methods of Sensei). Until now, Stingray has been a presence of Dwight Schrute in this franchise, although that which “Cobra Kai” uses to launch a comic punch that has not always landed. But make him the star attraction, with Johnny and perhaps other “Cobra Kai” characters who sometimes stop to check it, and we could actually have a really funny sitcom on our hands. It would not only make a very different spectacle of “Cobra Kai”, but it would also be a series that could easily make fun of itself and the spectacle that generated it.
“Cobra Kai” is now streaming in its entirety on Netflix.
