In the world of Star Trek: The next generation And his spin-off, the Borg were always something of a paradox. We have seen how one of their cubic ships is a threat to the whole federation, but most of the galaxy remains undefeated by Borg despite the ease of these bad Bionic boys. However, a Star Trek Borg theory offers an explanation: namely that the Borg have been controlled by failures installed by their unknown creators.
Star Trek Borg Theory
As for why Star Trek fans would create a special theory of Borg in the first place, it mainly amounts to answering a burning question. Namely, if the Borg are powerful enough to conquer whole planets and stars empires, why do you hardly make an effort to do it, and why is it so easy to defeat them? Depending on this theory, the borg can be powerful, but they are retained by limitations imposed on them by their creators.
THE Star Trek: The next generation Two-parties “The best of the two worlds” gave us our most complete overview of the Borg and serves as a main momentum for this theory of fans. In this episode, a single cube quickly becomes an existential threat to the earth, and it destroys dozens of ships before Riker and the Enterprise team manage to stop it. Part of their efforts includes cancellation stranger Ship, where they discover that the borg leave them mainly alone until they start to detonate things.
If you are a long Star Trek Fan, you have probably thought about the bizarre weaknesses that led to the creation of this theory. For example, why our heroes can simply be transmitted to this intimidating ship, something that could be prevented by the alien Raise their shields around hostile ships? Why does Borg not limit the presence of hostile visitors until these visitors have the possibility of accessing and destroying key systems?
Once you have started asking these questions, you will ask for follow -up. For example, why don’t these extraterrestrials assimilate or destroy everyone in the galaxy? Why do they never send more than a cube to attack the federation, and why do they avoid assimilating less advanced forms of life, even if it would help innovate their species? According to this theory of Star Trek Borg, it is because they were created by an advanced race like the iconians who placed failures in the system in case their creation was going to be thug.
There are still many variables unknown in this theory … For example, it is not clear why a race like the iconians would conceive of extraterrestrials as dangerous as Borg first, and it is not clear how or why these bionic villains have become thugs. However, the theory maintains that the advanced race was aware of both the possibility and the danger of the borg which becomes a thug and installed various security devices to prevent their creation from conquering or destroying the galaxy. These failures were however only partially effective, because the Borg are always the greatest threat to life around the galaxy.
Star Trek has had more than one Borg theory over the years. For example, we love the theory of the author Peter David according to which the killer of planet of The original series was initially designed by extraterrestrials to destroy the Borg. However, most theories never deal with the practical weaknesses of an enemy who can simultaneously threaten the entire galaxy but also be closed by data entering a “sleep” order. This new theory tries to stimulate this circle, and although it is not perfect, it has accomplished one thing: we Never Look at the Borg or the iconians in the same way.
