When Trey Parker and Matt Stone began to produce 2004 Team America: World PoliceTheir main objective was to rail on celebrities, including, but without limiting themselves: Michael Moore, George Clooney, Ethan Hawke and, of course, Matt Damon. While the creators of South Park had no qualms about making fun of actors like Sean Penn for their just indignation each time that speaking of politics with an swollen feeling, the reason why they portrayed Matt Damon as a moron who can only say his own name (Mattttt Damononnnn) when he was invited to speak was not at all malicious. In fact, the only reason Matt Damon was described in such a way Team America: World Police It was because the puppet which was designed with its resemblance to the mind “looked a little mental deficient” according to Matt Stone.

In other words, the puppet they had watched the room, Parker and Stone did not have enough time to get a new one by making it before, and they simply run with the joke.

In the same breath, Matt Damon said he thought that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are geniuses, and it is clear that he took the joke in the process, not only because he trusts their artistic instinct, but because they are also friends in real life.

Matt Damon has heard the explanation of Trey Parker and Matt Stone on the creation of his puppet Team America: World PoliceSo at the very least, he can sleep easily knowing that the only reason he was the target of the joke was because of an unhappy propeller conception that took his own life.
