This message contains spoilers For “The Rookie”.
Those who grew up watching “Firefly” or “Castle” (like me) are already aware of Nathan Fillion’s charismatic call as a television director. Fillion excels in both dramatic and comic rolesAnd when these two elements merge, it gives a recipe that works in favor of most multi-season emissions. The dramatic of the ABC police procedure “The Rookie” corresponds perfectly to the bill, with Fillion playing the head man John Nolan, who opts for a brutal career change in the life of the life of mid-life by being part of the Los Angeles police department (LAPD). This sudden professional pivot comes with its own challenges, because Nolan is completely not prepared to meet the unpredictability which has just been a police officer. Things are convoluted over time, thanks to a dozen arches of characters and plots, but “The Rookie” is still solid, with its seventh season in January this year.

In season 4 of the show, a new character was presented: Aaron Thorsen de Tri Valentino, who is seen for the first time at a training under the detective Nyla Harper (Mekia Cox), but Nolan takes care of this mentoring role once Harper is absent on maternity leave in season 5. Thorsen’s Arc is quite interesting, while he is starting as Imoi de Tiktok Hayes unjustified. Although Thorsen was finally acquitted, public opinion remained unchanged, because most people were impatient to blame a mini-celement involved in a very sensational public scandal. Determined to find a new objective in life, Thorsen joined the police academy shortly after (he had to continue the LAPD just to enter) and worked for a hard time to prove his value within the department.

Unfortunately, Valentino did not return as Thorsen in the last season (season 7) of “The Rookie”, even if the character had become a crucial part of the LAPD in three seasons. Why was Valentino, and how does the show envelop the arch of Thorsen in season 7? Let’s take a look at what happened.
Tri Valentino does not come back in season 7 of the recruit for narration reasons
After the release of Valentino of the show was confirmed, the recruit show “Alexi Hawley spoke about it in an interview with Screenexplaining that this decision was made by keeping in mind the creative direction of the show:

“Tri [Valentino] is a big actor, and he has been a large part of our show for several seasons, and we would therefore like to put it back to a certain extent. In the end, it was like creatively, for where the show was going, that we had to rotate a little. But it is always very lively in our universe. “”
Hawley’s declaration is supported by the way the last season addresses the absence of Thorsen. Here is the story so far: Thorsen turns out to be an exceptional caliber cop over time and undergoes major personal challenges in seasons 5 and 6. be turned in the exerciseThorsen is seriously traumatized and undergoes therapy, but the therapist in question turns out to be in wicks with the big villain of season 6. These trying events inform Thorsen’s conviction that he needs a new start in another police department, which allows season 7 to discreetly end his story while keeping the way for his possible return.

In addition, we TO DO Get an indirect confirmation that Thorsen is doing well: during the first in the new season, Nolan asks Celina Juarez (Fanth Chavez) on Thorsen’s well-being, and she confirms that he adapts quite well to the North Hollywood station. Juarez also adds that Thorsen is relieved that his new peers do not know his immediate past, because this incident is always a source of anxiety for someone who was gradually recovering from a trauma.
It is a shame that the show does not present any scene where Thorsen arrives goodbye to his peers, which feels a little clumsy given what extent he was crucial to the enclosure and to his members. Needless to say, the absence of Thorsen can be felt, because the character had evolved into a constant and sufficiently versatile presence to fight against the evolutionary tone of the series.
Will Aaron Thorsen de Tri Valentino return to the future seasons of the recruit?
Hawley and Valentino said that Thorsen could come back at one point, and the latter went to Instagram stories to express his gratitude for the role and speak of a possible return (via Cbr):
“I will always cherish my time on” The Rookie ” […] And feel so lucky to have had the last 3 seasons … You never know who can come back in the world of the Wilshire. Until then, 7 Adam 19 is the officer Thorsen, through and outside! “”

While Valentino may not return to the full capacity, one appearance by guest seems more than probably in the near future, especially now that the show has been renewed for its eighth season. Until it happens, however, there is a plot Conspect impatiently in “The Rookie”. To start, the last season feels fresh with the entry of two new recruits, which are inevitably involved in cases where more than one criminal must be brought to justice. Some of the most convincing episodes are those where the main team forms authentic and ephemeral links while helping people, where the lack of action or explosive spectacle allows us to glean the characters that we know and love more.
Apart from that, antagonists like Joe Hauser (Jacob Pitts) have become exciting additions to the show. The slow -combustion moments have always worked in favor of history, because they open the way to the moments of subtle character which are not swept away in the show of a large -scale case. Hoping that season 8 of “The Rookie” will continue this tradition of exciting cases which question or subvert expectations. And perhaps, just perhaps, Aaron Thorsen will appear to help the LAPD one day when a case will become a little too convoluted for everyone.
