Star Wars fans constantly debate what types of Disney emissions should create … As, given the severity of the trilogy in a row, what type of series would it take to bring the old magic? It turns out that the old magic resided in the golden age of franchise books, comics and games that were released in the 90s. What Disney must do is create a enlarged Star Wars universe show, but that will never happen because its very existence would be confused for more occasional fans.
Decades ago, Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn Trilogy launched a series of interconnected stories of a galaxy far, far … The literary equivalent of the Marvel cinematographic universe. Unfortunately, Disney Discanonized all these tales when they bought the franchise, which is why they are now published under the Legends imprint. But if the house of the mouse wants to bring this franchise of death as a ghost of force, they must create a spectacle of enlarged universe Star Wars which focuses on what happened to our favorite heroes and bad guys after Return of the Jedi.
The Star Wars suites already covered this land, which is why Disney will probably never produce an enlarged universe show based on these previous tales. Such a program would provide entirely different continuity for the studio’s largest intellectual property and confused fans who (like the medium Marvel fan) would quickly worry about what they do and do not need to look to understand the latter Star Wars movie. It is regrettable, however, because such a spectacle could be the only thing that can bring together generations angry fans for several different reasons.
First of all, a enlarged star wars universe show would provide a kind of alternative end to what we have seen in the aftermath … In books, Luke Skywalker is a successful Jedi master instead of a hermit failure, and Han is a happy married hero rather than a dead and divorced father. This alone would appeal to fans of classic Star Wars Eu books as well as those who hated the way in which our characters dirty. Besides, this program could effectively deliver the scenario of the sequel that most of us were hoping See on screen after reading the books.
Second, a non -canonical enlarged star wars universe show would give Disney the ideal opportunity to bring back favorite characters from fans without worrying about what it would do to the narrative of the cannon. The fans loved the return of Grand Admiral ThrawnBut such a television show could also give us representations on the fans’ favorite screen like Mara Jade and Corran Horn. In addition, we could see the types of stories that will never appear on the big screen, like Luke Skywalker getting married and having a child.
Finally, this enlarged Star Wars universal show should be around, and this provides the perfect excuse to bring familiar actors like Mark Hamill Back to express their emblematic characters. It would be the best of both worlds, allowing Disney to give us new stories from Luke Skywalker without having to worry about bringing the character back to life or animating him with soulless CGI. In addition, let’s be honest … After the suite trilogy, we could all use a palate cleaner with regard to the representation on the screen of Lukeskywalker.
While such a enlarged Star Wars universe show could unite hardcore fans, Disney will never create it because having two different continuities would be confused for occasional viewers. It’s a shame, however, because it could be the rebirth of the animated franchise that we expected. And that would allow fans and Disney to follow Kylo Ren’s advice regarding the most recent history of this franchise: let the past die … and kill it if you have to.
