The show was developed by the Superstar of television David E. Kelley, and was fairly well received by viewers and criticisms. The first season has an approval rating of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes based on a little of 29 journals. The second season obtained a 100%complete approval rating, but only four opinions were published. There is no score recorded for the third season of the show. It seems that “Mr. Mercedes” has not been widely seen. Oddly, the character of Justine Lupe, named Holly Gibney, continued in the HBO 2020 mini-series “The Outsider” where she was played by Cynthia Erivo.
Why did everyone stay away from “Mr. Mercedes?” Because it was broadcast on a little -known cable television network which has never attracted a lot of attention. Perhaps only AT&T and Directv users remember the short-term audience network, a service that only existed from 2016 to 2020. In 2020, King spoke with the New York TimesAnd he expressed some regret that “Mr. Mercedes” has never reached a mass audience. It was not that it was a bad show in a way. He was hiding too deep in the weeds of the war streaming.

Mr. Mercedes was ignored because he was part of the dark audience network
King had a great similarity for the way “Mr. Mercedes” was managed. He said:
“It was as if we had brought a stadium show in a cafe. […] I really liked it, but no one saw it. “”
It will probably take years and years to sift through the overabundance of the prestigious TV content which was manufactured in the late 190s and the early 20s. How many Quibi’s programs are still there, while waiting to be discovered, for example? How many shows on Facebook have you watched? Or youtube Red? It seems that original programs for the public will have to be distributed among some of the best known electricity players (or simply the survivors of streaming wars) before they can be discovered. It didn’t matter that some shows had an existing IP address or boasted of an impressive distribution of very paid cinema stars, many of them simply slipped by the way, just because the seas of content were so vast.

Fortunately, the three seasons of “M. Mercedes” were able to make your way on the peacockwhere subscribers can look at it for free. It is also available for rental via Apple TV. King, of course, was relieved, saying “Thank God for that. People really see it now.”
Of course, there is no King television shortage. “M. Mercedes” had several television brothers and sisters based on the king – all out of roughly at the same time – who were also encountered with a simple heat of the public. The King Multifer series “Castle Rock” RAN for two seasons in 2018 and 2019, and a remake of “The Stand” miniseries was presented on CBS All Access (later Paramount +) in 2020. King also wrote personally The television adaptation in 2021 of its “Lisey’s Story” ,, “ which was broadcast on Apple TV +. There is a lot to catch up. “M. Mercedes” is simply hiding, waiting for his post-audience audience to arrive.
