I know that the public could be impatient to have an overview of an actor, a director or a film they really care. I know that the blow against shorts is generally that they are very dark and depressing. But it is the biggest evening of the films we are talking about! These nominees deserve to be there. The filmmakers have reached a summit of their profession, and in some respects, they serve as a replacement for the public; By seeing them on the world scene, we imagine what it must be for ordinary people to rub the titans of the industry. It is the realization of Hollywood to its best.

I would personally love to see the Oscars fully kiss a ridiculously long race and make sure that the ceremony feels like an even greater event than it already does.
