Made Laura Burney (Julia Roberts) Do you have everything? It certainly seems like this. She is young, beautiful and lives in a magnificent house in Cape Cod. But appearances can be misleading, and Laura’s life is a hell deprived of physical and mental domestic violence. Fearing his husband control, Martin (Patrick Bergin), will finally kill her, Laura simulates her death and begins a new life in the small town of Iowa.
Until then, Sleeping with the enemy is a captivating drama on a woman taking control of her own life. But the film quickly turns into a well -designed thriller when Patrick discovers that Laura is still alive – and will do everything to recover it.
A box office hit when it was released in 1991, Sleeping with the enemy was not liked criticism and was parodied at the time for his exaggerated moments. (There is a recurring pattern with bathroom towels that will roll your eyes.) But it is effective in what it does, and Roberts is magnetic like the traumatized laura. The score of Jerry Goldsmith is not subtle, but you bomme it long after finishing the film.

Made in AmericanOne looks like a drama, but it’s actually a comedy, and it’s very funny that does not get much credit today. As too proud Sarah, Goldberg gets the most laughs when she tries to give meaning to Hal, who likes to wear polyester, blue jeans and a large cowboy hat. A youngster Will Smith Presents itself as the friendly tea of Zora, and its scene in the sperm bank is one of the funniest in the film.
