“Doctor Who” is no stranger to animation. It turns out that the animated episode, “Lux”, is nothing less than a love letter for dedicated fans … but not the way they could have expected. When the animated living caricature of the moonlight, Mr. Ring -A -Ding (expressed by Alan Cumming), turns out to be Lux Imperator – The God of Light of the same Pantheon as Maestro (Jinkx Monsoon) and Sutekh (Gabriel Woolf) – The Villain Straps the Doctor and Belinda Chandra (Varanda Sethu) in a series of animated series and films animated. The doctor and fans quickly establish a report and have a good mood debate on the best episode of “Doctor Who”. (The doctor tries to promote several episodes of his own mandate, while fans unilaterally promote the excellent “flashing” of the first era of David Tennant.) Finally, the show embraces the capacity of the Fandom in Nitpick and to interpret clues and details, as the trio admits that they are just a particularly sneaky layer in the trap of Mr. Ring-A-Ding. In a really meta moment, it turns out that the fans are fictitious, and they choose to help the doctor and Belinda to escape … at the cost of their own existence.

The scene is a fun and unique tribute to one of the most dedicated science fiction fans bases. It is also a hilarious commentary on the Fandom bracelete, given the thorny tendency of a fan to condemn the points of the plot of the episode and to spit the hatred of Hashtagged on the last era “Doctor Who”. As a last nod to viewers of the show, the so -called fictitious trio is even resurrected for a scene of average credits – for which “Doctor Who” is generally not known – where they comment on the quality of the episode after seeing it in full.
