Holidays can be chaotic – cooking, accommodation, cleaning or travel can really take it off when everything you really want is to spend time with your family.
This Easter, if you need a break in egg hunting, you may want to open Hulu and put one of these great films. They all have themes of joy and renewal and are perfect to monitor during the holidays in the spring.
‘The Sound of Music’ (1965)

This classic musical is generally watched for Christmas, but it is ideal for a vision of Easter as well. Maria (Julie Andrews), a nun with a passion for music and nature, is sent to work like a governess for Captain Hautain von Trapp (Christopher Plummer) Seven children.
Maria helps the von trapps to rediscover joy, love and music while falling in love with the captain along the way. The unforgettable songs will delight young children. For the older public, the film’s frame and time give it more serious nuances because it takes place in Austria while the Nazi regime rises to power.
The refusal of the Von Trapp family to give up their values in the face of fascism is particularly inspiring when you know that it is inspired by a true story. This family film is much more than “rain drops on roses and mustaches on kittens” – but you will find yourself singing these words long after the end of the film.
‘Mrs. Doubtfire ‘(1993)

Robin Williams is at his best wacky and motor with this hilarious film, which earned him the Golden Globe for best actor of a comedy or a musical. Williams plays Daniel, an irresponsible actor whose recent separation of Miranda (Sally Field) Leave him unable to spend time with their three children. Unable to find stable work, which is one of the conditions for an improved childcare agreement, Daniel concocts a wild scheme. He disguises himself as an elderly Scottish woman named Iphigenia Doubtfire and becomes the nanny and the cleaning lady of his children.
Disguised, Daniel acquires a better understanding of his family, including his ex-wife, but he always risks being discovered, leading to several ridiculous scenes where he must switch between his two characters. Nestled in rigid humor, however, is a thoughtful story about divorce and the way families can rebuild themselves after the end of a marriage.
“Ferngully: The Last Rainforest” (1992)

It is a shame that this animated film has never reached the status of icon of some of its Disney or DreamWorks cousins. It is a fairy tribe living in an Australian tropical forest. When a young recorder named Zak (Jonathan district) is accidentally narrowed to the size of the fairies by the apprentice magician Crystal (Samantha Mathis), he ends up joining the quest for fairies to save the tropical forest from an evil and polluting entity called hexxus (Tim Curry).
The forest houses a dynamic fan of creatures, including Batty Koda (Robin Williams -Is there a children’s film that has not been improved by its presence?), Whose time that experimentation in a laboratory made it crazy in a disturbing and endearing way.
Cum is a colorful and romantic story with a strong environmental message that is perfect for spring.
