US vice-president Jd vance was roasted on X, formerly known as Twitter, to be one of the last people to see the delay Pope Francis.
On Monday, the Vatican announced the death of Pope Francis, just a day after his last appearance on Easter Sunday.
Vance briefly met the deceased pope and exchanged greetings with him on Sunday.

The American vice-president was the target of the jokes of several Internet users on X after being photographed with the Pope on Sunday, a few hours before his death.
An X user reacted to The Associated PressThe post on the meeting of Vance with the pope by tweeting: “Not him who died 4 hours after that. JD Vance is the confirmed anti-Christ.”
Another X user joked saying that the Pope died because he could not manage the presence of Vance. They wrote: “Imagine being so unbearable that the Pope falls dead immediately after meeting you.”
A third user X added: “I don’t think JD Vance killed the Pope, I think JD Vance probably drained the Pope’s will to live. It is subtly different.”

Recall that Vance escaped the trophy of the national football team championship while trying to lift him during his visit to the White House last Monday.

The Vatican published a statement on Monday to announce the sad news of the death of Pope Francis.
The declaration, made by his eminence Cardinal Farrell, began, “the most expensive brothers and sisters, with deep sadness, I must announce the death of our Saint-Père Francis.”
Farrell continued: “At 7:35 am this morning (local time), the bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the father’s house. All his life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and his church.”
He added: “He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage and universal love, in particular in favor of the poorest and most marginalized.”

The declaration ended: “With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we congratulate the soul of Pope Francis in the infinite merciful love of the one and a Trinitarian God.”

JD Vance pays tribute to Pope Francis

After the announcement of the death of Pope Francis, several world leaders paid tribute to him.
Vance, a Catholic convert, was one of those who did it. By taking to X, he cried the death of the pontiff, writing“I have just learned the passage of Pope Francis. My heart goes to millions of Christians from around the world who loved him.”
He recalled their meeting one day before the death of the Pope, noting: “I was happy to see him yesterday, even if he was obviously very sick. But I will always remember him for the homily below that he gave in the first days of Covid. It was quite beautiful.”
Pope Francis’s last public appearance

The Pope died in the midst of Easter celebrations in the Catholic Church. On Sunday of Easter, he did what would be his last public appearance and was seen to greet the crowd of the gallery of the Saint-Pierre Basilica after celebrating mass.
During this last appearance, Pope Francis delivered a sincere message promoting peace and mutual respect. He underlined the need for tolerance and understanding of people of different beliefs.
An assistant read his Easter Sunday message, which understood the powerful declaration: “There can be no peace without freedom of religion, freedom of thought, freedom of expression.”
The Pope also talked about suffering in Gaza. He described the violence in progress in the region as a “deplorable humanitarian situation”.

Thinking about world conflicts, he said: “What a great thirst for death, for killing, we see in many conflicts that rage in different parts of the world.”
He added: “I express my proximity to sufferings … for all the Israelis and the Palestinian people. Call a cease-fire, free the hostages and arrives with the help of a hungry people who aspire to a future of peace.”
