During the weekend, the city of Cincinnati showed a great love to one of its most famous natives by revealing Katt Williams Way in the Avondale district. The honorary designation fell to the intersection of Reading Road and Maple Avenue – the very block of Katt grew up. Talk about a full circle moment!
The vice-mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney stopped to reproduce the city and help it make it official, said wlwt. While Reading Road will keep its original name for navigation, the region will now also be known as Katt Williams Way in its honor.
The ceremony was full of love and appreciation, and of course, Katt had to be there itself to do everything.
During his acceptance speech, Williams said: “Even as a growing youngster here, I understood that the names meant something. And so, I understood that Cincinnati should be an ideal place because … it had such a long name. I thought it was a special place. I thought it was a place where I came from here, I thought the girls were beautiful, I thought the guys were smart. I thought it was a place where it was a place where [where] You could really do something and make someone proud.
