Revenge is a dish better served with a large glass of freezing milk in Leon: the professionalAnd if you did not have the pleasure of looking at this action thriller during your life, it is high time that you launch the old tube and you were giving him a whirlwind. Tell a story with zero fat, Leon: the professional is intelligent, direct, leaves little room for the imagination to unpack any kind of subtext (read: there is none), all for the rapid rhythm, the development of fast but credible characters, and some fairly knotty action sequences which will be in equal violent and intelligent parts.
In addition, Natalie Portman, who saw her first role in this film in the era of 12 Leon: The professional.
So simple it’s disgusting
Leon: the professional is one of these films with such a simple story that by virtue of its concise story is forced to look at its strong characterization.
Leon (Jean Reno) is a quirky hitman (or as he calls it, a cleaner) of Italy who spends his nights sleeping with an open eye, apparently consumes only milk and devotes his whole life to his work, his training and the cleaning of his weapons. Working for the crowd, Leon keeps a low profile and only really shows up in public when he is about to take a blow as ordered by Mafioso Old Tony (Danny Aiello). Luckily, Leon has a meeting with Mathilda Lando (Natalie Portman), the girl in difficulty living in the apartment in the corridor, and realizes that her father (Michael Badalucco) attracted a bad company in the form of the Norman Stansfield of Gary Oldman, a corrupt DEA agent who lights up glasses in the drug trafficking.
Learning that his whole family was murdered by Stansfield and his henchmen, Mathilda seeks Leon with the intention of learning her ways when she brings together two and two and realizes that he is a hitman. Reluctance at first, Leon takes a taste for Mathilda when she makes an offer that he cannot refuse in the form of taking care of domestic tasks such as shopping and cleaning, as well as teaching him to read.
The apprentice becomes the master
Through a series of assembly sequences in Leon: the professionalLeon and Mathilda form an inseparable link which is equal to healthy and annoying. Although Leon is a gentleman who focuses only on his work, Mathilda professes his love for him, which makes the whole situation difficult for the two parties involved. Although Leon clearly has paternal feelings for Mathilda, he focuses on the task to be accomplished, which leads to his protégé to become a cleaner without romantic intention.
But what does Leon: the professional So, healthy in a strange way, it is how they work together when we all know that their relationship will probably end with a kind of tragedy given the height of the issues. At least, I remembered the teaching of my own daughter how the roller skate safely when Leon taught Mathilda the best practices to eliminate the targets of a roof – while I featured the virtues of carrying knees to my daughter, Leon highlights the imports of not giving your place to Mathilda in a business but nourishing way.
