Season 3 even gives Reward a young child to befriend and take care of Richard Beck (Johnny Berchtold), transforming him into a substitution father in a way. This is a new dynamic and it allows Reward to be both sweet and kind to someone in the middle of his brutal unleashing. Their relationship is also quite funny, given the little effort that the overtaking caused his initial disdain to hide for this rich spoiled kid with whom he was salted.
At the same time, one of the big problems with season 2 of “Reacher” was his cast of support. Most of the former friends of the army to see each other in a way mixed after a while, because the season did not spend enough time developing their personality and simply relied on their common history to expand them . Likewise, the villains of season 2 were quite disappointing. In the end, the convoluted plot that the bad guys put in motion was more memorable than the characters themselves.
Fortunately, season 3 does not have this problem. On the one hand, the allies to see this time are more interesting and in fact have distinct personalities (not to mention an entertaining dynamic). Because they were already a unit before meeting PROWER, the show does not have to spend time explaining what they represent or to whom they are. On the contrary, we can look at them as they slowly realize who, exactly, they are dealing here.
Then there is Big Bad of season 3, a fascinating turn which makes this season different this season from that of the previous ones. It is because, in the first three episodes, we learn the man that we initially have thought The main antagonist of the season was really just a pawn. Admittedly, Zachary Beck is a rich despicable bite like Kliner (Chris Webster) of season 1, but it quickly becomes obvious that he cares (in a certain way) of his son Richard. Worse still, although he can act dangerous and important, his boss is a much larger fish that uses it for his business. It also means that the Elder Beck a little tragic, even if he is still roughly a bad guy. Finally and above all, there is Paulie, a alias larger to see, an incredibly ridiculous character who is all the more fun to look because he removes the greatest power of Prower – his size.
Although we only start with “Reacher” season 3, it seems that the series has brought back its mojo, to judge by its first three episodes.
New episodes of “Reacher” Drop Thursday on Prime Video.
