One Of The Best Martial Arts Movies Ever Is Getting A TV Series From A Star Trek Veteran
Conventional wisdom dictates that there is no way to improve perfection, but since when has it stopped disseminating companies when there is money to be made? In the last instance of today really nothing is sacred, Deadline revealed the news that Prime Video goes ahead with a series adaptation of “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, the history made the most famous by the director Ang Lee booming, sumptuous and romantic Wuxia Classic. The 2000 film was based on the Chinese novel of the same name of the author Wang Dulu, which was in fact the fourth episode of a larger saga called “Crane-Iron Series”. This new streaming show will apparently inspire this original source material, instead of simply redoing the film.

Whether it is simply a cheeky intellectual property taking or a truly inspired attempt to modernize a seriously convincing story, however, it is undeniable that talent is involved in radiation. The creative team already aboard this project includes Jason Ning (known for their work on the program Fox “Lucifer”, the Paon series “Mme Davis” and “The Expanse”) as an executive editor / producer and, more tedious, “Star Trek” Veteran and “Battlestar Galactica” Overseer, Ronald D. also Galactica ” Attached as a showrunner on the video series “God of war”. There is no word on a potential cast or even a start date for production, because Deadline only vaguely describes the series as “in development” currently on Amazon and Sony Pictures television. Whenever this materializes, it is worth being asked among the fans of the film Lee if it will even come closer to the (very literal) summits of what preceded.

Is it worth making another Tiger Crouching adaptation, Hidden Dragon when the 2000 film exists?
Only two words come to my mind for anyone who is responsible for trying to find another vision of “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon:” Good luck. The film of 2000 very important and ossarized told the story of the famous master Swordsman Li Mu Mu Bai (played by Chow Yun-Fat) and his warrior colleague Yu Shu link (Michelle Yeoh), two friends who were not relevant to others. When the bandits try to steal a venerated sword called The Green Destiny, their loyalty and their code of honor forced them to embark on an epic adventure to find the bad guys, but not before they cross a much younger pair (LO). Oh, and there is also a bunch of action to fight against the sword and pieces unlike any other 21st century film, with an incredible thread and an impeccable choreography. Friends are a classic for a reason.

All this raises the question of what Prime Video could possibly do this “Tiger, Hidden Dragon” has not already accomplished. There is probably an argument to be made that recent stories of success like “Shōgun” (which somehow gets a second season), in the same way representing a new version of an older adaptation, prove that there is a precedent for what this new series is trying to withdraw. It remains to be seen that this really manages to do so, or ends up reminding viewers a much better adaptation. We will keep a close eye (and somewhat skeptical) on this one, so stay listening to / film as other updates come into play.
