For some, the holidays are about celebration. But for others, they evoke painful memories of loss. Last Christmas, DC young fly and his family seemed to do a bit of both in honoring the memory of Jack Oh. In the video, Nova and Nala wear purple and pink pajamas. A woman behind the camera asks the girls if they are ready to receive their gift. The oldest, Nova, takes the gift bag that says “Hip Hip Hooray” and reads the card aloud.

“Merry Christmas, baby cousins. Your mother is always with you and despises you with everything you do. She is very proud of you all,” Nova read. The card was lovingly signed by a cousin.

After hugging someone, Nova set the gift down and took out a medium-sized sculpture covered in bubble wrap. After removing it from the packaging, Nova’s mouth instantly dropped at the sight of Jacky Oh’s face, and a soft “Mommy” came out. By then, Nala had moved closer, smiling at the sculpture and repeating that it was her “mom.” At one point, she admitted that she missed her mom.

Since the death of Jacky Oh, DC Young Fly has explained on several occasions how he deals with his grief. End of June 2023, he admitted crying all the time, but he said he tries to maintain his positivity. The beauty influencer died of complications with a body enhancement surgerybut the surgeon involved has not faced any related criminal charges.
