Crystal Hefner and boyfriend James Ward celebrate their first birthday with a luxurious getaway in Africa, and the old Playboy model shares special photos exclusively with US Weekly.

“Honestly, I have the impression that time has stolen and stayed motionless at the same time,” she adds. “I can believe that we have come so far because we were so intentional, but it is always wild to look at what extent we have built and lived in just one year.”

The couple’s trip to Africa included stops in Rwanda, Uganda, Botswana and Zimbabwe. In addition to tourist visits, Crystal and Ward have also “given back” through charitable work on their prolonged trip abroad.
“We made a donation to help build housing for a school orphanage in Uganda and had the privilege of seeing the chimpanzees and gorillas in their natural habitat,” she says. “Now we continue the trip to Botswana to stay in some of my favorite camps with Machaba.”
Crystal and Ward began to go out together last April and that their connection has strengthened, it springs how this romance “released” compared to her five -year wedding with the founder of Playboy.
This time, Crystal admits does not “need to be always” on “in a relationship.
“I don’t try to be perfect or polite. I am more myself than I have never been, ”she reveals. “I did the work to heal, and now I am in a relationship where I can present myself with all my diapers, and it is welcome, not judged. It is incredibly liberating.”

For the moment, they celebrate so far: “We are constantly laughing, we are fighting each other and making room for both deep discussions and spontaneous pleasure,” she says. “We Really Love it, and it’s magic.
